Google Pagespeed Optimization Case Study
With Google finally implementing the Google Core Web Vitals update which is almost entirely about page speed, website owners need to start thinking what they can do to help increase download speeds across their entire website. 90% of the clients I have and website owners I have talked to have passing scores for the Google Core Web Vitals test. And using a tool like Page Speed Insights, most have scores below 30. This is common with ecommerce sites due to amount of images, apps and coding they have done to the sites over the years.
In this case study, my team is going to be working on three different Shopify sites to see what they can do to help improve the Page Speed Insights scores and possibly get passing scores for Google Core Web Vitals. I have no idea what is going to happen, but we are going to take what we learn here and then we will be able to help other businesses like your improve your scores as well.

Here are the scores as of July 15th, 2021 for mobile (left) and desktop (right).
We will keep this case study updated as we make changes to the site in order to improve these scores. While the desktop scores are not terrible, I really want to see some good increases in mobile download times.
